It is baldly obvious where the propaganda is going here.
Pakistan is being demonized for not hitting their radicals hard enough to keep them from cross border attacks in Afghanistan.
The US and NATO are hoping to step up pressure on the Pakistani government to have a very strong Western military presence on Pakistani soil, something that they have heretofore refused, and something that would compromise any sense of being a sovereign government to the Pakistani people
And what do Somalia and Algeria have in common that this articlerefuses to mention?Oil, and natural gas.
In 2006, oil and natural gas exports made up 98% of Algerian exports.
And the West wants those resources...badly.
In an article by Carl Bloise out of "thirdworldtraveler.com", from www.zmag.org, January 16, 2007, the following facts were stated:
"Currently, the US gets about 10 percent of its oil from Africa, but, the Monitor story said but 'some experts say it may need to rely on the continent for as much as 25 percent by 2010.' Reportedly, nearly two-thirds of Somalia's oil fields were allocated to the U.S. oil companies Conoco, Amoco, Chevron and Phillips before Somalia's pro-U.S. President Mohamed Siad Barre was overthrown in January, 1991."
And the people in these three countries?
Generally living in grinding poverty, with only a few of the elite enjoying the good life at the top.
When people believe that they have a possibility of a better future, and more sharing in the wealth these countries are producing, they generally aren't going to be picking up rifles or setting off bombs.
But what countless administrations seem to be continuing to do in these countries - in a way that is almost terrifyingly pathological - is to support tinpot dictators for as long as they can, extract what they and the corporations who support them want, then are suddenly amazed when citizens of these countries want some of the rewards their natural resources are bringing to actually return to the citizens of those countries.

Former Israeli spymaster: We have year to hit Iran nukes
By Reuters and Haaretz Service
Israel must destroy Iran's nuclear program within the next 12 months or risk being attacked with an atomic bomb itself, the former head of the Mossad told the British Sunday Telegraph.
"As an intelligence officer working with the worst-case scenario, I can tell you we should be prepared," Shabtai Shavit, who served as Mossad chief from 1989 to 1996, told the British paper.
"We should do whatever necessary on the defensive side, on the offensive side, on the public opinion side for the West, in case sanctions don't work. What's left is a military action."

Understanding Reality From Deception in the War on Terror
By: Peter Chamberlin
The propaganda war is the most important front in the terror war. “Neoconservatives” are the masters of political manipulation who sold the war to the people. This overwhelmingly Zionist movement rode to power in America on the efforts of other Zionist psychiatrists and sociologists, who had been implementing government brainwashing and psy-ops, to condition the American people to accept the new “war of civilizations” and the anti-Islamic policies that had been designed to support it and to bring it about. “The public has to be more alert”, warned one “international terrorism expert” in the Daily Mail late last year, because Scotland “is set to become another Israel within five years”. “[A]nti-terror measures will soon become a common feature of life”, he assured the audience, and called for “routine arming of police officers” and increasing children’s “awareness of the dangers of terrorism” and for them to be “encouraged” to report anything “out of the ordinary”.
The oracle of doom was one Amnon Maor, identified as the head instructor of counter-terrorism for the IDF and Israeli border police.[1] Maor is working with security firm 360 Defence, based near Glasgow, which is “training Scottish police, military and civilians in security techniques”. This wouldn’t be the first time the British police benefits form Israeli anti-terror expertise. The police squad that carried out the extrajudicial execution of the young Brazilian electrician Jean-Charles de Menezes in the London underground had received similar training.
In the post-September 11 world, Naomi Klein writes, Israel has pitched its “uprooting, occupation and containment of the Palestinian people as a half-century head start in the ‘global war on terror’”. Britain has since been furnished with its own unpopular occupation of Arab land – and the lessons from Israel are not lost on its architects. In disaster lies opportunity – and the only thing more useful than a thing to fear is fear itself. The give away line in Maor’s prescription above is his offer to increase children’s awareness of the dangers of terrorism – absent the real thing, fear should suffice. The Prime Minister may not have many achievements to his name, but he can claim patents to ‘Fortress Britain’, whose battlements sit on a foundation of fear.

"The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over, and then expecting different results." Attributed to Albert Einstein.
By this definition, the foreign policy of the United States in 2008 is clinically insane. The plan that has lately come into play, to persuade our allies into asking for US forces to come in and wage total war on their borders, would require that our allies also act in an insane manner, inviting massive destruction upon themselves, in order to further American goals.
After his pal Iraqi President Maliki refused Bush’s request to invite the US to fight a war with Iran upon his border (based on false evidence) his best buddy Ehud Olmert then refused to pick another fight with Hezbollah in Lebanon (even though the war would be fought for Israel, the cost extracted by 600 missiles/per day raining down upon Israelis would have been too high). It is complete idiocy on Bush’s part to think that either Karzai or Musharref will act any differently as he pushes them to respond forcefully to the recent provocative “false flag” attacks in their respective countries.
After the recent prison break at Sarposa prison in Kandahar, President Karzai, acting as America’s spokesman, forcefully threatened to send US forces into Pakistan. He blamed the attack upon the Pakistani Taliban, naming Baitullah Mehsud, leader of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), as one of the key cross-border raiders, even though his base in Waziristan is hundreds of miles from Kandahar. This is keeping with America’s disinformation M.O. of taking two divergent themes and merging them into one PSYOP. Mehsud is being set-up as Bush’s “patsy,” the alleged figurehead (bin Laden-type) to be targeted for total war by American/NATO force.

The Fallout From the Fallout 3 Revelations

As you have noted, the Telegraph newspaper article that ridiculed the SITE Intelligence Group's latest offering – the image of a nuclear-devastated Washington, D.C., turned out to be an image snatched from a new computer game called Fallout 3.
As at least one website operater reported, 30 minutes after this article was posted onto his and other websites, the link went dead, and even the Google cache memory of the article was wiped out.
SITE defended itself by contacting the Telegraph and informing them that they weren't red-faced about anything, and that they never claimed that the image was an original, only that some jihadi bad guys had inserted this image into a video posted onto one or two of the top terrorist,Al-Qaeda affiliated websites, or web forums.

No new evidence of al Qaeda threat despite report: U.S.
Wed May 28, 12:04 AM
By JoAnne Allen
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - There is no evidence of a direct threat from al Qaeda or that the group has obtained weapons of mass destruction, U.S. intelligence officials said on Tuesday, despite reports that al Qaeda will release a new video urging jihadists to use such weapons to attack the West.
FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said the bureau sent out an alert to U.S. law enforcement agencies about the expected video. "We got information the tape is coming," he said. "We sent out an alert to law enforcement to let them know the tape was coming."
Kolko said the alert was a routine precaution sent to 1,800 U.S. law enforcement agencies.
Terrorism charges filed against detained British resident
WASHINGTON (AFP) — The Pentagon announced war crimes charges Tuesday against a British resident alleged to have conspired with al-Qaeda to launch bomb attacks on apartment buildings and gas stations in the United States.
Binyan Mohammed, an electrical engineer born in Ethiopia, was charged with conspiracy and material support for terrorism on May 28, according to charge sheets released by the Pentagon.
A Pentagon official who oversees the special military commissions set up to try "war on terror" cases in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba must review the charges and decide whether to refer them to trial.

On Friday it was confirmed that Scott McClellan's book, which has received stern criticism from the White House, had been delivered to the administration in advance of its publication. MSNBC reported that it had been delivered at least a month before, as a necessary review of classified information. As McClellan himself explained in a Q&A on Washingtonpost.com

SITE red-faced as Islamist 'Washington ruin' image turns out to be from Fallout 3 game

This image of Washington after a nuclear holocaust, which a US intelligence group claimed showed the ambition of Islamic extremist terrorists, was actually lifted from a computer game.
The images appeared in a video, called Nuclear Jihad: The Ultimate Terror, posted on two password-protected websites, al-Ekhlass and al-Hesbah, believed to be affiliated with al-Qa’eda.
SITE also released translated several chatroom threads from al-Ekhlass and al-Hesbah, discussing the possibility of nuclear attacks on the West.
Why are the presidential candidates—and so many counterterrorism experts—afraid to say that the Al Qaeda threat is overrated?

Michael Sheehan is on a one-man mission to put terrorist threats into perspective, which is a place they've rarely or ever been before. Already you can see it's going to be a hard slog. Fighting the inflated menace of Osama bin Laden has become big business, generating hundreds of billions of dollars for government agencies and contractors in what one friend of mine in the Washington policy-making stratosphere calls "the counterterrorist-industrial complex."
But Sheehan's got the kind of credentials that ought to make us stop and listen. He was a U.S. Army Green Beret fighting guerrillas in Central America in the 1980s, he served on the National Security Council staff under both President George H.W. Bush and President Bill Clinton, and he held the post of ambassador-at-large for counterterrorism from 1998 to 2000.
In those days Sheehan was among that persistent, relentless and finally shrill chorus of voices trying to warn the Clinton administration that Osama bin Laden and his boys represented a horrific danger to the United States and its interests. Days after the October 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen that killed 17 American sailors, experienced analysts like Sheehan at the State Department and Richard A. Clarke at the White House were certain Al Qaeda was behind it, but there was no support for retaliation among the Clintonistas or, even less, the Pentagon.
